The Straw
Today is one of those days
Where everything feels too much
Where the light is just too bright
And the dark doesn’t hide enough
It’s the straw that broke the camel’s back
A culmination of little things
It’s a bird that’s lost its song
Whose silence is deafening
Today is one of those days
Where everything feels too much
Where the light is just too bright
And the dark doesn’t hide enough
It’s the straw that broke the camel’s back
A culmination of little things
It’s a bird that’s lost its song
Whose silence is deafening
It’s the straw that broke the camel’s back

about
"The light is just too bright, and the dark doesn’t hide enough."
Feather House are unleashing their darkest sounding track to date with the release of the three part single - The Straw.
Expect to hear the sounds of moody organs and dreamlike vocals spoken over huge swelling menacing strings. Buckle up and keep your hands inside your listening vehicle at all times, this isn't going to sound pretty!
It's kind of a reflection of the darker times we're currently living through, the cracks are opening up... but as Leonard Cohen once said, "That's how the light gets in."

Here are some comments / reviews...
"It sounds great, really love the lyrics and the whole version with the string intro is great! Beautifully dark and moody..." - Luke James Williams (Singer-Songwriter)
"...it's fantastic! IT IS your darkest yet which makes sense in this mad world! Love the darkness. Brilliant sound" - Veronique Gasseau-Dryer
"I like this and like you say a darker sound for Feather House, more indie than folk, reminds me a bit of Echo and the Bunnymen." - Kevin Thompson
"Wow, this is a weight, to carry, to pull behind you, to block the rays, to drive your want to survive and reach out.
Loving it..." - Meadows Lee
"Amazing... this is GREAT!! Really enjoyed it, the intro with the cello is fantastic. LOVE the dark moody sound and direction you're taking things." - Ben Sinclair-MacDonald
"That sure is a dark one!" - Paul Sexton (Author, BBC Radio Presenter, Sound Lounge)
"Mega track - got totally lost in it listening on headphones here. Ace." - Rob Forrester (This Picture)
"It was really dark; nice work on the production too. It has a dense and layered atmosphere, it almost has a slow doom feel to it without getting into metal territory (unless you are? 😆). I enjoyed that bassline when it poked out too and the crushed slow dirge rhythm..." - Caleb Pryer (Disco Zhivago)
